As a Religious Congregation we have chosen the rule of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis as the basis of our lives. Our duty as religious Brothers is to unselfishly serve the needy. Service of any kind should always be inspired by the Spirit of Jesus who changed people’s suffering into victory and glory through his obedience until his death on the cross. Therefore, our guiding principle reads: "In Cruce Victoria" which means "In the Cross, Victory!"
To be able to live our spiritual life, we need to gain strength over and over again. Our community prayer life and our personal prayers are very important. The daily celebration of the Eucharist becomes the source of mercy that never runs dry. It is in the Eucharist that we meet Jesus in Word and Sacrament. That is why we are grateful to devotedly revive and invigorate ourselves through these wellsprings of power, in imitation of our spiritual father, St. Francis of Assisi.
Another characterization of our community is that we are attached to one another through our vocation to religious life, through our profession of the same rule and through our life shared in common. We are also orientated to all people—we do not live for ourselves alone but we are obliged in love to serve everybody.
Our Franciscan community is a true community of Brothers in which we serve and want to be there for one another. We believe that we can follow Jesus Christ and realize the Spirit of the Gospel when we are there for the sick, the suffering and those in need. Without lived brotherliness our spiritual foundation would neither be complete nor Franciscan. We live our Brotherhood also in relationship with our co-workers and other religious communities.
