 The Congregation of Franciscan Brothers of the Holy Cross is a religious community of men vowed to sharing in the Mission of Jesus by serving the needs of the Church in the Franciscan Tradition. The Franciscan Brothers of the Holy Cross are men called by God to follow Gospel values and to respond with compassionate care and ministry to human needs.
As a witness of Gospel values and Franciscan ideals, the Franciscan Brothers of the Holy Cross can be found in various ministries which enable the Spirit's gifts to flourish by bringing into our time and place the Reign of God in the world. Our Brothers serve the Church in caring for individuals with developmental disabilities, in health care, pastoral care chaplaincy, as teachers, secretaries, and in leadership roles of service.
The Franciscan Brothers of the Holy Cross can be found in Germany, the Netherlands, and in the United States.
Of particular value to the Franciscan Brothers of the Holy Cross is our identity as a religious community of faith and our commitment to serve those in need. We value the common life and the development of our spiritual relationship with God.
As members of the Franciscan Brothers of the Holy Cross we strive to live gospel values inspired by the life of St. Francis and guided by the life and rule of our founder Brother James Wirth. Our mission is to be of service to the Church and the people of God by providing care in a joyful giving of self to the sick, the suffering and those in need.
